in Mentoring?
You can change someone’s life AND impact our community at the same time. There are youth aging out of foster care without any adult support who need someone they can trust to learn from. Why not help them take steps toward freedom and independence by using skills you already have! Read below to learn about mentoring A Youth in our community:
The “Open Table” Model of Mentorship
The Open Table - mentor an Aged-out Youth
Foster youth who turn 18 years old while still in the system are considered “aged-out.” Without support from caring adults, a very high percentage of these youth quickly become homeless, trafficked, or incarcerated. However, with support and guidance, these youth can beat those odds and move toward a future filled with possibilities. The Open Table model connects local professionals with an aged-out youth. The Open Table mentors meet with the youth over the course of one year to guide them towards positive change. If you would like more information about mentoring an aged-out youth through The Open Table model, fill out the form below to attend a 30-minute informational webinar.
Our Open Table Mentorship Program is proudly sponsored by ‘Cake Changes Everything’:
“Tom and Terre Downey, owners of Nothing Bundt Cakes in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, continue to blend their business success with a steadfast commitment to the community, particularly through their ongoing collaboration with James Storehouse to support transformative programs especially for foster and aged out youth.”
